Every passing minute
of every passing day -
I won't tell you to live them like your last, and I can't force you to treasure them.
But though the time before you may seem limitless,
with days upon decades stretching off into some indiscernible distance far away,
It's not.

You will die.
I will die.
Maybe I've already died, or lie dying as you read this.*
Imagine dying.
Face death. No, not heaven or hell or rebirth or afterlife or turning into a ghost or what have you, but death. The complete cessation of all of your body's functions, and perhaps (depending on your religious beliefs or lack thereof) the extinguishing of your consciousness itself.

If you can, try to imagine you yourself ceasing to exist, the termination of all of your thoughts, feelings, and being.

What the hell will any of this have mattered then? Yes, there's enjoyment, but living in and for the moment has its limits. Seriously.
Let there be some meaning for you to have lived.
It's a luxury, I'll admit,
but the way things are going now,
the wasted minutes are piling up precariously
higher and higher
hardening into regrets that threaten to come pelting down at the slightest disturbance.

*though rest assured, I've absolutely no intention of committing suicide in the near future.
