Writing of the Week

It rains here sometimes
In this city so deserted,
I leave to look sometimes
But most of the time leave dissapointed,
For everyone has gone

It rains here sometimes
As I wait for the return,
Of the once glorious city
Where imagination ran free,
But everyone has gone

It rains as I wait here
In this city so empty,
We opened the gates, but still we decended
Into the darkness of desertion,
And this place is so empty

It rains more often in this place
Where poets, bards, and storytellers reigned,
And I seek shelter inside the dark buildings
But they hold nothing and no-one,
They are so empty

It rains, tears from above
And I watch the sun rise in the morning,
Hoping against hope
That this place will someday rise from the dust,
But it is always so, so empty

And one day, it didn't stop raining
It rained hard and relentless,
Against the stone buildings of those gone
And as it flooded, I did not leave,
For what is the use in waiting in a place so, so empty?

A part of the land died that day
The day when that city fell dark,
And it lies now in a lake, untouched by time
And so far below, one still waits,
Tethered to the bottom of the so empty city...
