Irene had always loved the black color of a Shiny Manectric, so when she was given a PokéRadar as a rental trial, she immediately tested it around Floaroma. When she finally found one, he didn't want to be caught at all. Irene stubbornly insisted, but it took a while to get his trust. Baraqiel doesn't like to be considered different, and at first he is annoyed by Irene; but then, he meets up with Jehiel, Irene's first Manectric, from whom he understands that Irene really cares about a Pokémon's personality. After that, he becomes a loyal fighter and even teaches Jehiel how to use Flamethrower.
