Chugoi was the name of a beautiful red betta fish I had. He lived just over two years, and was the smartest fish I've ever owned. I had him in a regular tank with all sorts of other fish, and he held his own against goldfish three times his size trying to nip his fins, usually by chasing them into a corner. When he died, I felt it would be rude to flush him, so I buried him out with the other small pets I've had. Relicanth gives me the same sense of wonder and affection that he did, with its unique appearance and silly, betta-like underbite (the rarity of the egg makes it stand out, too).
