The eggshell crumbled. A shrill cry emerged. The onlookers swayed, rustling and rattling their stone buds uneasily. The tiny creature looking up at them plaintively was unnaturally pale, with odd pink buds. It would be very difficult to hide this one from predators... But it was the sort that a human might cherish. With furtive glances at eachother, the Sudowoodo gently placed the curious child in a sand-pit rich with delicious, soft limestone. They placed a piece in its mouth to suck on, and quietly vanished into the trees.
